It was released on Youtube to the public on May 26, 2015.

The film was released to Kickstarter backers on while it premiered at MCM Comic-Con in London the next day. A rarity for a fan film is that most of the cast and crew involved here have previous experience in filmmaking and acting. The fan film was shot in Newbury in the county of Berkshire, UK. The cast is led by Adrian Bouchet as Thomas (who played Sven in Alien vs Predator) with Philip Lane as the Predator. Predator Dark Ages was directed by James Bushe with cinematography by Simon Rowling. The cast and crew reportedly worked for free. They received another £7000 from a private investor which allowed them to make the full 30 minute fan film. They were looking to get up to £20,000 to make a full length 30 minute fan film but managed to meet the minimum amount of £5000 which would see them produce an extended trailer.

The fan film was first announced back in June 2014 and the filmmakers started a Kickstarter campaign to get funding for it. Predator Dark Ages is a Predator fan film set in Dark Ages that follow a group of Templar Knights that encounter a creature in the forests of England.
